Step 1
Turn on your Nintendo Wii Gaming System

Make sure that your Nintendo Wii is connected to a wireless broadband connection.

Go to the Wii Settings and follow the prompts under the Internet Setup screen.

Once your Internet is set up and ready to connect and browse, return to the Wii menu.

Point the Wii remote at the top right hand corner of the Wii Menu until the hand is over the Wii Shop Channel icon.

Press the A Button to load the main page of the shop channel

Once you are into the main menu of the Wii Shop channel, there are several options you can look at.

The two main options are “Virtual Console” and “Wii Ware”. The Virtual Console Icon shows a picture of a Nintendo Wii Controller and within this menu you can find classic games from systems like Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, and others.

Aim your Wii remote towards the Virtual Console icon and press the A button.

A new menu will load asking you for options on finding a game. You can search through the most popular titles, recently added, system, genre, and simple alphabetical.

As you browse through the available games, the far right side will tell you how many Wii Points that the game costs.

In the main menu you can purchase Wii points at 100 points for $1.00 with a minimum at ten at a time. Click on Buy Wii Points and follow the prompts. You will need a credit card to purchase these points.

If you do not have a credit card, visit video game retailers to purchase a Wii Points Card. They are the same price as buying Wii Points on the system.

Open the package that the card came in and remove the Wii Points Card.

Turn over the card to reveal a silver lining. Scratch that off and enter in the code at the Wii Shop Channel.

A game download will usually take less than a minute to complete and once it is, the game will automatically appear on your Wii Menu to play and enjoy.
