Instructions

    • 1

Take several plastic bags and set them aside. Place them near the area where you will be sorting.

    • 2

Take some paper and write different sizes on each piece of paper. Tape one of these papers to each bag. You will then have bags marked for different sizes.

    • 3

Start weeding out the seasonal clothes that your kids are not going to be wearing. Place each size in a bag. For instance, size 3 goes in the bag labeled "Size 3," and so on. This makes it so much easier to retrieve the clothes the following season.

    • 4

Mark on a 3x5 card anything that the kids will need for the following season, such as a new coat, boots or gloves. Tape the card to the wall of the closet where you store the extra clothes. That way when the next season comes, you will know what your kids need for that season.

Leave one warm sweatshirt out for summer in case of a chilly summer night. Leave one swimsuit out for winter in case the kids go swimming at an indoor swimming facility.

Tips & Warnings

  • Sorting the clothes does not have to be done all in one day. Doing a little bit each day gets the job done.

  • You can label "girl" or "boy" along with the size on each bag. This makes it easier when locating a particular size for a particular sex.
