Watch the film several times. After watching it write down any images that you remember as striking, important or stunning.

2
Import the footage into your editing program. Listen to the score accompianed with the movie. Find the most dynamic or romantic or upbeat or somber moments. Jot down the timecodes.

3
Write out in a few sentences what the story is. This is a logline of sorts. Now think about the different ways the movie could have ended including the actual ending. You'll want to suggest these possibilities in the trailer as to what could possibly happen.

4
Begin pulling clips from the movie. Place them on the timeline in whatever order or grouping you would like. Lay down the musical score. Place clips in a rough order.
-
5
Watch your rough cut. Write down notes of what works or doesn't and what pops out as odd. Revise the edits. Watch again. Show it to some other people and get their opinions. Revise and rewatch until you are satified.
