How to Make Pretzel Jello Salad

For one of the best desserts around, try your hand at some strawberry pretzel Jello salad. This unique combination of sweet and salty flavors will be a hit not only with your taste buds, but with anyone else who tries it.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 cups of crushed pretzel sticks
  • 3/4 cup of melted butter
  • 3 tbsp. sugar
  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 8 oz. Cool Whip
  • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. Strawberry Jello
  • 2 cups of boiling water
  • 2 (10 oz.) pkgs. frozen strawberries, partially thawed
  • 9 x 13 inch pan

    How to Make Strawberry Pretzel Jello Salad

  1. Step 1

    Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Step 2

    Mix the crushed pretzels with the melted butter and sugar.

  3. Step 3

    Press into the bottom of the pan.

  4. Step 4

    Bake at 350 degrees for a metal pan, or 325 degrees for a glass pan, for 8 minutes.

  5. Step 5

    Take out and let cool completely.

  6. Step 6

    Beat the cup of sugar into the cream cheese.

  7. Step 7

    Fold the cool whip in.

  8. Step 8

    Take the whole mixture and spread over the pretzels. Set aside.

  9. Step 9

    Mix the Jello into the boiling water and mix until dissolved, add the frozen strawberries and stir gently.

  10. Step 10

    Set that mixture aside for 10 to 15 minutes.

  11. Step 11

    Pour over the Jello/cheese mixture.

  12. Step 12

    Chill until firm.

  13. Step 13

    Serve and enjoy.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure your pretzel jello salad sets firmly before cutting it.
  • You can use any brand of Jello.

on 7/8/2008 This is the recipe I use but I use only a 1/2 cup instead of the 3/4 cup of melted butter for the crust. This is delicious and popular with my family. Everyone should try it at least once!
