How to Get Married in St. Thomas

Contact the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands to get the paperwork necessary. If you are a visitor getting married on the Island, you can download the proper forms from the links below.

Complete the forms and return to the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands vis US mail.

Contact the Superior Courthouse to determine if they have received your application for a marriage license and to ensure that the there are no problems with the application.

Plan for your trip to St. Thomas and arrive a few days before the scheduled wedding date.

Visit the St. Thomas Superior Court prior to the wedding to receive the official marriage license. Both the bride and groom will need to be present and bring photo identification when picking up the marriage license.

Have your marriage ceremony officiated by a legal US Virgin Islands officiant. At this time, the officiant and the witnesses will sign the marriage license making it legal.

Finalize the marriage by returning the completed and signed forms to the court. They will mail you the official copy once the records have been completed.
