How to make a bird feeder with your kids

This is a fun and easy (though maybe a little messy) way to make a bird feeder. My kids love it!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pine cone (bigger is better)
  • Peanut butter
  • Birdseed
  • Butter knife
  • 12-18 inches of ribbon or string.
  • sciccors
  1. Step 1

    Take your kids for a walk and let them pick out some pine cones. the bigger ones work best.

  2. Step 2

    With your butter knife smear a thin coat of peanut butter into the spaces made by the cone.

  3. Step 3

    Sprinkle the bird seed onto the peanut butter.

  4. Step 4

    Make a large loop with your ribbon or string and attatch to the tip of the pine cone.

  5. Step 5

    Hang from a tree limb and wait for the birds to come.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure to use a thin layer of peanut butter. Too much make be dangerous for the birds.
