Things You'll Need:
- Pirates of the Caribbean Stratego board game
-
Step 1
Set up your pieces similar to standard Stratego. In other words, hide your flag somewhere in the back, and have a good mix of weak and strong pieces on both sides.
-
Step 2
Make use of all your pirate powers. Any piece of rank seven or higher has a special power listed on the side of your board. Each power should be used as much as possible so you can get the most out of your advantages.
-
Step 3
Use the compass as Jack Sparrow to find where the flag is from the very beginning. This will allow you to focus your attack on whichever side of the board the enemy flag is on.
-
Step 4
Use the Spyglass before attacking any piece that hasn't moved. Your nines and tens are fairly unlikely to be killed by another numbered soldier, but will explode if they hit a bomb. Spy on the bombs first, to avoid them.
-
Step 5
Save at least a pair of threes for the late game. Threes are the only numbers that can dismantle a bomb, so if the opponent's flag is behind bombs, you'll need a three in order to win.
-
Step 6
Abuse the swordsman ability. Attacking three pieces at once increases the chance that one of them might be a bomb, but it will allow you to at least reveal and possibly destroy a few of your opponent's pieces at once. Try to activate the ability near a corner, as whatever you don't kill will at least help you figure out if the flag is there.
-
Step 7
Attack with Forced Surrender to attack another piece with no risk to yourself. Bombs won't explode and higher numbers won't fight back, making it an ideal attack when you are unsure of your opponent's piece.
-
Step 8
Use magic as Davy Jones to hunt down eights and nines. Once your opponent has revealed his powerful pieces, align yourself in the same row or column as an eight or nine, and then use magic to leap across the board for the kill.
