  1. Step 1

Brush your hair thoroughly. This style looks best when hair is clean and tangle free.

  2. Step 2

Dampen your hair with water from the spray bottle. This will make the hair easier to manage. Do not saturate your hair, just get it slightly wet.

  3. Step 3

Divide a section of hair at your temple into 3 pieces. Each piece should be no thicker than your thumb.

Begin braiding the section. Each time you move a piece of hair to the middle, add more hair from further back on your head. This will cause the braid to "travel" in a circle around your head. If you add big pieces of hair, then your crown will have a single row. If you add small pieces and your hair is long enough you may be able to encircle your head several times.

  5. Step 5

Secure the end of the braid with a rubber band. Braid as far down the hair as you can go before fastening the end with the rubber band.

  6. Step 6

Fasten the end of the braid under the crown with several bobby pins. Make sure that you pin it securely so that the ends do not straggle out.

  7. Step 7
Piling your hair on top of your head in this fashion can be uncomfortable if it is not adequately anchored and secured.

Spray your hairstyle with hairspray. Because all of your hair will be on top of your head, go ahead and use a fair amount of hairspray to secure the style and smooth away loose ends and flyaway strands of hair.
