How to Use Daemon Lite To Mount A Program

Daemon Lite is a software program that will emulate another drive on your computer for the purpose of opening or using a program that your computer will not open otherwise. This is generally used by people who download torrents as a way of opening an ISO file. This can be done to open any kind of file, although it is specifically targeted for games.

How To Use Daemon Lite To Mount A Program

Step1

Navigate to and click on your start button in the lower left hand corner of your screen. Now click on All Programs and under this submenu, find and click on Daemon Lite. This will begin the opening process. Most users only set up the basic program necessities, so Daemon will load to the toolbar at the bottom right of your screen when completely opened.

Right click on the icon for Daemon Lite in your toolbar. Now left click on Virtual CD/DVD-Rom. A small window will appear that has two options. You will choose the first, which should say Device 0: [F:] Empty. Click on this and another small window will appear.

Left click on the first option that appears. It should say Mount Image. A new window will open above that will say Select Image File at the top. On the left side of the window is the directory for all files on your computer. You should now locate the file or folder you wish to open by clicking on the correct drive or file and navigating to it.

Step4

Double click on the file, and Daemon will recognize that you want to mount this file. Once the file is mounted and recognized by Daemon, you can now play the game or the file you chose will open in a new window. If you mounted a game, the game window will appear and you will have no choices. If you mounted a picture, it will appear in a window with options to insert in mail and save to disk. If you mounted a program, a window will appear asking you what you wish to do with the program. Hit Run in the bottom right hand corner and your program will begin.

Tips & Warnings

You have the option of creating more than one virtual drive using Daemon Lite. If you need two different drives in order to burn a copy of a program, or to play a specific file, this is the way to do so. Right click on the Daemon icon and then go up to Virtual CD drive. Now click on Set Number Of Devices. Now you can choose however many different number of drives that you need to complete your task.
