The Heel Raise exercise helps strengthen your calf. The great part about this exercise is that it can be done at home or at the gym. The exercise I will talk about is done on a set of stairs because it allows you to go down further when coming down from the exercise.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Stairs
  • Comfortable shoes
  1. Step 1
    Starting Position
     
    Starting Position

    Step up on to a set of stair steps and hold onto the wall or stair railing

  2. Step 2

    Place the balls of you feet on the step (Same as picture above)

  3. Step 3
    Lift Position
     
    Lift Position

    Now raise your heels as high as you can

  4. Step 4
     

    Go down as low as you can

on 6/11/2008 Very simple but really effective exercise - thanks for sharing this with us. We can all do with following this one once a day for better strength and flexibility! If you don't have stairs, a large phone book can work well too.
