How to Tile a Small Bathroom

  1. Step 1

Choose a tile that not only looks good in your bathroom but is also functional for the room. Consult the tile expert at your local hardware or flooring store to look at your best options in bathroom tile.

  2. Step 2

Purchase waterproof adhesive and follow directions for spreading it on your floor. Bathroom tile needs a special adhesive so that the tiles will not come loose after they get repeatedly wet. A good waterproof adhesive will solve this problem.

  3. Step 3

Apply the tiles along the floor but leave space around the edges. Bathrooms are full of strange angles and pipes going into the floor. If your tiles do not meet up perfectly with the wall due to sizing, leave a good gap for you to do some custom fitting.

  4. Step 4

Measure the areas that still need tile and their special needs. Some may need circular cuts, while others may just need to be trimmed. Cut each piece down to the proper size and reapply some adhesive and lay the remainder of the tile.

  5. Step 5

Apply waterproof grout along the gaps in the tile and around any open spaces such as along the piping. This will help ensure that your bathroom tile stays firm for the remainder of its lifetime.
