Things You'll Need:
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg beaten
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Griddle, skillet, or largest frying pan you have
- spatula
-
Step 1
First off mix the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder in a bowl together, if you have a whisk use it... Make sure that the ingredients are mixed together well...
-
Step 2
Next, in a separate bowl add the egg, milk, and the oil. Once again, mix this together as thoroughly as you can.
-
Step 3
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ones and mix them together. Mix them well, but allow for a little lumpiness in the mix, it should be a little lumpy.
-
Step 4
With that out of the way, now is the time for cooking. Go ahead and heat your griddle, skillet, or pan. A medium heat should just about do it. Let it get warm. I like to add a drop or two of oil on to my griddle as well, it helps the pancakes from sticking a little better.
-
Step 5
A ladle comes in handy at this point if you have one. I take the ladle and scoop out a good scoop of the mix, and "plop" it on the griddle, repeat until you cant put any more on.
-
Step 6
Let the pancakes cook. This is generally about 3 minutes on each side. I say generally because everyone's stove or griddle may be different. Once you start seeing bubbles coming up on one side, it usually safe to flip them on the other side. Once there done, throw them on a plate with a little butter and syrup, and your good to go.
