Step 1
Begin with a multi-functional basket to hold the gift in. Whatever you choose, make sure it ties in to the theme of the gifts you intend to fill it with. This can be anything from a laundry basket to an outdoor storage bin. Continue by padding the bottom of the gift basket with a large item. For instance, an outdoor bin could have pool floats or a gardening tool holder.
-
Step 2
Place the cellophane under the item before you start filling it, this will allow you to wrap it when it is full, without disturbing the contents. The whole purpose of a wedding gift basket is to showcase the gifts that are in it, so take your time arranging the items in the basket in such a way that the gift attracts the eye from every angle.
-
Step 3
If your budget is restricted and you can’t afford any of the items on their gift registry, pick up some candies at a local store and dip one half of them in melted white chocolate and the other half in melted milk chocolate. Drizzle the white candies with some white chocolate and pink icing; finish off the chocolate ones with a white v shape, forming a tuxedo. This is inexpensive, but the time you spent making the candies and wrapping them in a nice gift basket will compensate for not following the gift registry.
-
Step 4
If you are having difficulty propping up the items in your basket, purchase some wood dowels and poster board. Glue a photo of the couple to the poster board and cut it out to make a silhouette, and then glue the picture to the dowel. This not only makes a great support, but the couple will have great fun pulling apart the package and you will have made their gift a personal reflection of your relationship with them.

Step 5
Once you have all of the items in place pull the cellophane over the basket and the contents and gather together at the center, allowing the top section to spread out similar to a rose petal. Pull a bow around the neck you created and tie off.Be very careful transporting the gift. Prepare the route to your car and its resting place before attempting to move it.
