Some people are blessed with beautiful skin. Others have to work at it. Whatever condition your skin is in, steps can be taken to put you on the road to better looking skin. Here's how you can get your skin looking its best.
Lavender oil and rosemary oil if skin is normal or combination skin
SPF 25
Cleansing Your Way to Beautiful Skin
Step1
Cleanse your skin first thing in the morning and at night before going to bed, using a soap or cleanser appropriate for your skin type. Apply toner, and then apply moisturizer while skin is still slightly damp. If your skin is classified as mature skin, cleanse, tone and moisturize before going to bed and skip the morning cleansing regime. One cleansing a day is enough for mature skin as it's best to avoid drying out skin that is prone to be on the dry side.
Step2
Steam your face once a week to remove impurities and keep your skin looking radiant. Fill a stainless steel bowl with hot water and add a few drops of tea tree oil to it if your skin is on the oily side. Use lavender and rosemary oil for normal and combination skin. Drape a towel over your head to make a tent and to prevent steam from escaping. Position your face a good distance above the water to allow steam to open pores so they can purge. Hold face over bowl as long as tolerable, making sure steam does not burn skin.
Step3
Use an appropriate mask once a week for normal, combination, mature, dry, or sensitive skin. Twice a week for oily skin.
Step4
Avoid exposing your skin to the sun during the morning hours, up to ten-thirty a.m. and after four-thirty p.m.. Wear a sunscreen with an SPF factor of 25.
Step5
Avoid drinking alcoholic beverages and do not smoke.
Additional Tips
Step1
Eat foods that are rich in vitamins A through E and foods containing minerals that are good for your skin. Zinc is one mineral that's good for your skin. Zinc is found in eggs.
Step2
Get enough sleep.
Step3
Have a professional give you a facial once a month. Facial massage stimulates circulation and encourages collagen formation.
Step4
See a dermatologist if you have acne.
