Make your own DIY homemade Indiana Jones Costume made from a few common materials you can find in your home or at thrift shops.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Dark brown electrical tape
  • black electical tape or felt
  • light brown leather belt
  • dark brown leather belt
  • jeans or kakis
  • suede hush puppies or docksiders
  • black make up
  1. Step 1

First, to make a homemade Indiana Jones costume that like Humphrey Bogart wore, find an old brown suede fedora hat on line or at a thrift shop.

  2. Step 2

Buy or find a pair of jeans or light Kaki pants like Dockers. Take a thick dark brown belt for the Kaki pants and a brown piece of felt you find at any craft store and fasten it around the belt in a loop form to hold Indiana Jones whip.

  3. Step 3

If you cant find a leather whip or even a costume one, you can make a homemade one by taking a piece of rope and wrapping it with brown electrical tape.

  4. Step 4

Use an old dark brown satchel or purse and remove the handle and tie a thin lighter brown belt to each strap handle to make a DIY Indiana Jones shoulder or army bag.

  5. Step 5

Now just add a black flight jacket, safari shirt, suede deck shoes and black makeup for that scruffy beard look and you have your own homemade DIY Indiana Jones costume!

Tips & Warnings
  • Use black and brown electrical tape to create your fedora hat ribbon and to wrap your whip if needed.
  • Check army surplus stores or goodwill type thrift shops for pieces of your costume
  • If you are looking for a whip also check for a Zorro whip, because Indiana Jones whip was based on that characters.
