Arching your eyebrows adds visual definition and style to your eyes without using makeup.

Eyebrow arching is most commonly done by women to add precise visual definition to eyebrows and enhance overall facial appearance. There are several methods for arching your eyebrows, including wax treatments, most typically performed in salons by cosmetologists, or tweezing, which you can easily do at home by yourself. Because removing hair from your eyebrows will have immediate and long-lasting effects on your appearance, you may want to consult with an experienced eyebrow-shaping professional to determine the best shape and style for your brows. You can do subsequent brow arching at home using tweezers. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Determine the optimal inner edge of your brow by holding a ruler vertically against the left side of your nose and using a mirror to take note of where the ruler intersects with your left brow. The inner edge of your brow should end at the point where the ruler intersects with the brow. Carefully pluck any hairs between this intersection and the inner edge of your opposite brow with your tweezers.

Determine the optimal arch point for your brow by positioning your ruler on the left side of your nose and angling it so that it passes over the outside of your left pupil. Take note of the point at which the ruler intersects with your brow. This will be the top of your brow's arch. Use your tweezers to create a brow line that gradually tapers up from the inner edge of your brow to this point.

Determine the optimal outer edge of your brow by positioning the ruler against the left side of your nose and angling it across the outside corner of your left eye. The point at which the ruler intersects with your brow is where your brow should end. User your tweezers to remove any brow hair beyond this point.

Create a slightly tapered line that extends down from the top of the brow arch to the outer edge of the brow with your tweezers to complete the arch shape. Use a towel to wipe away any loose brow hairs, and repeat this process for your other eye.

Tips & Warnings

  • Minimize the pain of plucking by tweezing your brow hairs just after showering.

  • To achieve the best results, always pluck from beneath the brow and from inside to outside in direction.

  • Be sure to remove just one hair at a time to avoid removing too many hairs.
