mmm Pad Thai, everyone's favorite thai dish, and probably the most fattening

Thai food-- we all love it! We can't get enough of it! However, if we don't use some restraint when going out for Thai, I think we'll all start to find our pants are fitting a bit too snug.

After all, an order of Pad Thai, is between 900-1600+ calories depending on the restaurant and type of Pad Thai you order.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Your favorite Thai food place
  • Some sensibility
  • Good decision making skills
  1. Step 1

Mmmm... what do we always order when we go out for Thai? Pad Thai! It's so good, how can you say no?! Well BEFORE you order, I recommend exploring other options. BUT if you must order the Pad Thai, make 2-3 meals out of it.

  2. Step 2

Try to avoid fried foods at Thai places including: fried noodles, tempura, and so on. Avoid coconut based sauces/ creams, they are high in trans fats. Also stay away from peanut sauces, or use them VERY moderaely

  3. Step 3

Instead chose salads, fresh/steamed dishes, fresh spring rolls, lean meats. any satays are pretty good for you, soups with a broth based, dishes that are primarily made of vegetables, steamed rice, and so on.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you are unsure of what to order, ask your server what the healthiest options are
  • drink lots of water with your meal!
  • Nutritional information regarding thai food, varies with each restaurant, for exact fat and calorie counts, contact the restaurant in which you will be dining.
