Gas prices continue to increase and there does not seem to be any relief anytime soon. Since we all have to pay more for gas these days, it is important that we know how to use our gasoline and save.
Combine several short trips into one, instead of making a different stop everyday.
Step2
Stop the "pedal to the metal". By speeding up when there is a yellow light trying to avoid stopping at a red light uses more gasoline each time you push down on the accelerator.
Step3
Stop speeding. The faster you drive the more gas you consume, so try to stay within speed limits.
Step4
Stop tailgating. Not only is tailgating hazardous but every time the person driving ahead of you uses their brakes whether if it is a complete stop or a non-complete stop you have to slow down more than the driver in front of you, which causes you to increase acceleration, and ultimately uses more fuel.
Step5
Try other forms of transportation as much as possible, such as public transportation, walking, cycling and/or carpooling.
Tips & Warnings
Try to use the same gas station each time you purchase gas. Know which type of gas and from which service station is best for your vehicle and stick to that same station.
