Things You'll Need:
- An eBay seller's account, capital for a vehicle, and possibly a PayPal account.
-
Step 1
Locate and buy a car or RV for resale. The first thing is to make sure it runs. This decreases the value by 90% if it does not. Look for unusual special options that it might have, such as performance packages like GT, Type S, ZR2, Si, or Z28, or first year models. Collectors pay a premium for some vehicles. It will be ineffective to try to check everything wrong with any car, so look for: Appearance, Completeness, Leaks, Functionality. These are explained next. BEFORE even going to see the car, check eBay for similar ones. Notice price, Buy it Nows, and more importantly if they are getting any bids. You may even want to follow a few to their end dates and see what a few go for. If there are none on eBay, then you may have something rare, or you might have searched incorrectly. Modest eBay savvy is required.

Step 2
Appearance. Does the vehicle have all of it's outside parts intact, and all lights work. Paint isn't that important, but if it looks good then bonus. Are the tires decently treaded? Is the glass intact and clean? Does the interior have rips and tears?
-
Step 3
Completeness. Inside and out, is the car missing any parts? Hubcaps, radio knobs, headliner, gas cap, antenna are small points. Engine parts like air cleaner, loose wires, disconnected emissions equipment, duct tape repairs should all be checked for.
