Most dogs hate having their teeth brushed. If your dog refuses to cooperate, here's a great way to improve their oral hygiene on the cheap.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Make Ice ~ Make some ice cubes. Smaller or larger ice cubes may be required depending on the size of your dog.

  2. Step 2

Soften Ice ~ Place ice in a glass of cold water and let it set for 5 minutes.

  3. Step 3

Enjoy with Your Dog ~ Have a seat, drink some water and feed your dog a cube at a time. They'll think you're spoiling them!

Tips & Warnings
  • Encourage your dog to eat ice by enjoying it yourself.
  • Keep a stockpile of ice in the freezer. If your dog loves it, you can use it every day.
  • Be careful! Dogs with old or weak teeth may chip a tooth on hard ice!
  • Be careful! Give ice the appropriate size for your dog!
  • Watch your glass! They may like it too much!

on 6/20/2008 I tried this and it worked! Even my cat joined in! For the cat and the small dog I had to use crushed ice.
