Throw A Birthday Dinner Party
Throw A Birthday Dinner Party

Having a birthday celebration for a friend is a lot of fun. It's the little touches that make it special.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A great meal
  • Simple decorations
  • Birthday supplies
  • Coffee supplies
  • Birthday card/gift
  • Drinks
  • centerpiece/flowers
  1. Step 1

When my friends or family have a birthday, I often invite them over to have a small dinner celebration. First, decide what to have for dinner. A simple homemade meal can be very special and comes from the heart. I often make my famous marinara sauce with turkey parmesan meatballs, with a salad and garlic bread. It depends on what type of food the birthday guest will enjoy.

  2. Step 2

Send out a simple invitation either by mail or by using an online invite service. People like to receive invitations, especially to an event in honor of their own birthday. I like to use VistaPrint because I can upload funny graphics, clip art, and photos to the invitation.

  3. Step 3

I always make sure I have a small boquet of fresh flowers to add to the ambience, and some lit candles.

  4. Step 4

The little details will be noticed and remembered, such as setting the table before guests arrive. I also will put up a couple balloons or a "Happy Birthday" banner that can be reused for many birthdays to come.

  5. Step 5

Find out what type of dessert the birthday boy or girl prefers, and make sure to have a few candles for the cake or pie. I always stock up on "happy birthday" paper napkins.

  6. Step 6

Make sure to have a pot of coffee ready to be brewed, and be stocked up on cream, sugar, coffee liquors, etc.

  7. Step 7

You will want to have beer, wine, or whatever the favorite beverage is of your birthday guest on hand.

  8. Step 8

A card or a small thoughtful gift is always appreciated, such as a framed photo of yourself with your friend, a small collage of photos or memories, or a pair of tickets for an upcoming movie or concert. Take a few photos at the birthday dinner to present to your friend at a later date, such as the following year on their birthday.
