Praying is easy. It is a conversation with God, just the same as if you were talking to your best friend.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A desire to pray and be closer to God.
  1. Step 1

Prepare yourself to focus on speaking to God, just like you would a friend. Give God the same one-on-one attention you would a friend.

  2. Step 2

First, thank God for his blessings. Praise Him in your own way: thank Him for your family, your job, your friends, health, etc. Acknowledge that He is master and creator of all things. Be reverent before Him.

  3. Step 3

The Bible tells us that whatever we ask for in His name, believing, He will give us. So ask God for what you want and need, remembering that wants are different than needs and that He provides in His own time and not ours. Pray believing God is able to meet your needs. You must believe He is able to answer your prayers.

Tips & Warnings
  • The shortest prayer in the Bible (and it was answered), was "Lord, save me," said by Peter when he started drowning. Prayers do not have to be eleoquent and flowery - just honest and sincere.
  • Paul said to pray without ceasing.
  • Be careful what you pray for, you may get it.
