Here's my simple technique to trimming my dog's nails.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • toe nail clipper for humans
  • heavy duty human nail filer
  1. Step 1

Wash your dog's feet with soap and water.

  2. Step 2

With toe nail clipper trim all of your dog's nails as close as you can get it to the quick (the pink vein inside the nail).

  3. Step 3

Now go back and file each nail so that there are no sharp spots. Filing also gets you closer to the quick.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not let your dog's quick get too long because if it does, you'll have to get them surgically trimmed which can cost a lot. To prevent them from getting too long, trim and file your dog's nails each week.
