Stopping your baby from crying is easy if you understand what they need to feel better

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • baby
  • blanket
  1. Step 1

We as adults like to sleep with our arms out from underneath the covers but that isn't true with a baby. They've spent months confined in tight quarters where they could barely move so don't wrap your baby like the one pictured on the left.

  2. Step 2

To get your baby to stop crying, we need to recreate the womb. Take a blanket and wrap the baby snuggly. The step alone may cause the child to stop crying. If it does, then don't follow the rest of the steps. You've achieved your goal.

  3. Step 3

Hold the baby lying down on their left side. For some reason this seems to work. Your last resort is to start sounding like the womb itself. Get close to their ear and make loud swishing sounds, in and out like you're breathing. You must do it louder than the baby is crying or they won't hear you. You can try making the sound of the heart: k-thump, k-thump, gurgle like your belly does. All these sounds are soothing and the baby will stop crying.

  4. Step 4

Tips & Warnings
  • Never give up, the method will work.
  • Make sure there isn't something really wrong with the baby like a fever which could cause the crying.
