If you have the space and the money, adding a pool or jacuzzi is one of the best things you could do for yourself and your family. They each provide fun and entertainment for you, your family and friends in different ways. If you were thinking about adding something to your yard but can not decide which is best for you, here are the positives and negatives to consider when making your decision.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Pool Positives:
You will not have to travel far to get some relaxation and enjoyment in the summer months. No need to make trips to the beach every year as could layout in the sun and dip in your pool to cool off any day you want. Great exercise as it is easy on the bones and great for the muscles. Unlike other forms of exercise, swimming puts no strain on your joints making it the best form of exercise possible for any age.
Perfect center piece for any party or family event. Birthdays, graduations or even just a barbeque is always more fun when you have a pool!
Step2
Pool Negatives:
Depending if you chose an in-ground or above-ground pool, the decision can be expensive to install as well as maintain. Can raise your home owners insurance cost. While it will help sell a house, it will do little to raise the actual value of your home. This makes a pool a great feature but a bad investment.
Step3
Jacuzzi Positives:
It is a great way to loosen muscles that are tight. Extremely relaxing. Many people go to spas and pay money to sit in a jacuzzi when they could have it in their own yard! Takes up little space compared to a pool. You can pretty much find one in any size you want depending on how many people you plan to have in it.
Step4
Jacuzzi Negatives:
Is not recommended for people with heart conditions or woman who are pregnant. Depending on your location, it may only be able to be used a few months of the year. In many areas the summer months are extremely hot and would make it hard to sit in water that is above 100 degrees.
Needs to be always on and running. While you can control the temperature of your water, you need to always leave it running so that it maintains around the temperature you want. Otherwise, it would take a while to heat the water to your desired level. This translates to an increase in your energy bills.

Tips & Warnings

  • Some of the other things to keep in mind, when putting up a pool or jacuzzi, you should always check if your community or local law have any requirements or codes you need to meet. Also, most will require a fence to close in whichever you decide for safety reasons. No matter which one you choose, you will not regret the decision when you find yourself relaxing and enjoying your free time splashing around in your new pool or jacuzzi!
