Over the last 2 years I have been using inversion therapy to decompress my spine. Its completely easy and takes just a few moments to do. It has provided great relief during the middle of the day when my back hurts from standing. There are many different models to choose from.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • F9000 Inversion table
  • 4 minutes
  1. Step 1

Inversion is natural form of traction. It uses your body weight and gravity to decompress weight-bearing joints. By rotating the body and suspending it will elongate the spine and increase space between the vertebrae which relieves pressure on the discs and nerves.

  2. Step 2

To get started you will need to set the inversion table to the appropriate setting. On the model shown there are adjustments that can easily be made. It may take several adjustments to set the right height. It is also possible to adjust how the table will rotate.

  3. Step 3

By getting on the table and locking your feet. You are ready to invert. You should make sure that you feet are snug not uncomfortable before you invert.

  4. Step 4

If your are concerned with turning completely upside down then put the safety strap on so that you partly invert. Even by inverting partly you are still taking off much pressure from your spine.

  5. Step 5

The discs between our vertebrae hold water and through out the day they take on much pressure and loose water. By taking just a few minutes 1-3 (depending on your level of experience) it is easy to offer relief to those discs.

  6. Step 6

When you are first getting started invert for a short period of time. Remember that when you are inverting there is a lot of blood rushing to your head. That will eventually expand you capillaries and deliver more oxygen to your brain (the largest oxygen user)
