Dressing your children during the summer months isn't brain surgery but there are some good ideas that even seasoned parents forget to do.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Lightweight, breatheable fabrics. All your child's clothes should be made of cotton. Avoid fabrics that don't breathe well, avoiding heat rash (rayon and polyester area a big no-no). The fabric should also be very soft for their sensitive skin.

  2. Step 2

Wide brimmed hat. A wide brimmed hat will not only keep the sun off their face but will keep the heat off their head. It will also keep the damaging ultra violet rays of the sun out of their eyes.

  3. Step 3

Sandals. Avoid plastic sandals as they promote sweaty feet and athletes foot. For very little ones, closed toe sandals with good support are a good idea as they tend to trip often.

  4. Step 4

Long hair should be pulled up and off the child's neck to keep from over heating.
