Things You'll Need:
- Plastic or Paper baggies
- Paper, Pen
- Some Guts
-
Step 1
Identify the dog. Very important, you don't want to blame the wrong animal. I personally caught the little guy in the act!!!
-
Step 2
Chase the dog from your yard using a stick (do NOT hit or harm the dog)to scare it away and deter it from entering it again.
-
Step 3
Get a paper or plastic bag and remove the poop from your yard, politely return it to the proper owners of the dog ie. place the bag of poop on their door step.
-
Step 4
Write the owner of the dog a letter. Stay anonymous. Let them know that the health of your pets, children and self are at risk from the offending dog's poo due to the vast amounts of critters that can be eliminated from a dog such as worms etc.. Mail or put letter on door of neighbor.
-
Step 5
Next time the dog defecates in your yard and believe me they will return! Scoop up the poop into a bag and this time throw the poop into the yard of the neighbor. Write another note. If your state has a leash law as many do (Florida does) include this information in the new letter to the owners of the pet. You've given them one chance. This time it needs to be more serious. You can obtain a copy of the law from the internet and copy it. In the letter notify the owner that the animal will be detained and that animal control will be called to pick up the animal. The purpose of remaining anonymous is so that it will give you the chance to catch the dog and call without interference from the owner. If there is no leash law repeat steps 1 through 4. After the owner steps in the offending material a few times they should get the picture.
-
Step 6
If all else fails get a bucket and collect vast amounts of poo. ALL kinds of poo. Sneak over one night and dump it on their doorstep and be careful not to get caught. Go home and smile knowing that when the owner of the dog opens the door to let fido poo all around the neighborhood, they will get a taste of their own annoyance.

on 1/18/2009 Have the guts and common courtesy to bring it to the owner's attention. If they're honestly unaware you'll avoid some potential hard feelings and/or conflict. If they don't care or are unresponsive then take a different tact. Don't be so childish as to use this eHow advice.
