Make your own free printable spelling worksheets to enhance learning using a simple spelling software.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer with internet
  • Spelling lessons
  • Adobe Reader 6
  • Dictionary or thesaurus
  • pen
  • paper
  • ink jet or laser printer

Step1
To make spelling worksheets you must first decide on appropriate words and definitions for grade level reading. Teacher spelling lessons can be found over the worldwide web at different education resource sites or you can use a dictionary or thesaurus to find your own free vocabulary words.
Step2
If you decide to download the spelling words from your computer, you will need a reader program (like Adobe Reader 6) to down these words.
Step3
Place these words into your software program and choose a visible font and use clear definitions that are also grade level appropriate for your printable worksheets.
Step4
Now save your free spelling lists to your spelling worksheets and you can print them out to give to your students if you are a teacher, or children if you are a parent and you want to enhance your kids vocabulary and spelling skill sets.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure your spelling worksheets are grade level appropriate in both spelling words and simple definitions.
  • Use free clip art or graphics to encourage recognition and enjoyment.
  • Try to use spelling words that sound and are spelled similarly to encourage both visual and pronunciation learning skills.
