Bananas are great for your hair and scalp. They improve manageability and shine while moisturizing your skin and helping to prevent and control dandruff. However, most off-the-shelf banana hair products are available only at high end salons or as expensive treatments in spas. You can make your own banana hair conditioner for less than 5 dollars and in under 10 minutes in your own kitchen. In this article, we will discuss how to make hair conditioner with bananas.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 bananas
  • 1/2 cup of honey
  • Fork
  • Small mixing bowl
  • Electric mixer
  • Clean shampoo bottle with a squirt top.
  1. Step 1

Peel the bananas. You can save the skins for other beauty treatments or discard them at this time.

  2. Step 2

Mash the bananas in the mixing bowl. Use the fork to squish the fruit. Reduce them to a lumpy pulp, but do not worry at this time about making the mixture smooth.

  3. Step 3

Mix in the honey. The beaters on the mixer will help pulverize the banana further. You should end up with a slick, light brown "batter."

  4. Step 4

Pour the conditioner into the squirt-top shampoo bottle. You will only need to use a very small amount of conditioner each time you condition your hair.

Tips & Warnings
  • This conditioner is mainly good for your scalp and roots, so be sure to work it into your hair thoroughly before rinsing.
  • If you wish, you can add a drop or two of essential oils to make your hair smell like something other than banana pudding.
