Things You'll Need:

How to Have Inexpensive Wedding Pictures Taken

  1. Step 1

Search on-line and in the phone book for an inexpensive photographer. Some photographers offer deals and they sometimes have sales to boost business when it is slow. Finding a professional photographer, who isn't expensive, isn't an easy thing to accomplish. The sooner you start looking, the better chance you will have.

  2. Step 2

Find a new photographer, someone who just started in this business. Most of these people want to build up their portfolio for bigger jobs. You will have a good chance of getting your pictures done for free or very inexpensively. You may only have to pay for film and developing and possibly the photographer's gasoline.

  3. Step 3

Ask one or two of your family members and friends to take pictures for you. This will work better for you if the people you ask have really nice cameras. If you get two of them then you will have more angles and different pictures to choose from.

  4. Step 4

Pass out disposable cameras to the guests as they arrive at the wedding. That way you will have numerous pictures to choose from. Make sure to pass out more cameras at the reception. You can pick a couple of people to take pictures of the bridal party.

  5. Step 5

Ask guests beforehand if they could bring their own digital camera and take pictures. Most people bring cameras to weddings anyway. Since they're already taking pictures perhaps they can email copies to you. This will save on the cost of disposable cameras and make developing the pictures cheaper because you can delete the ones you do not want.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep all negatives for the pictures that you receive and put them in a safe place in case you need them later.
  • If you are having kids take pictures explain to them in detail what you are looking for so you do not get any weird pictures.
