How to Find Temporary Nanny Positions
There are several times when a person may only need a temporary job. College students need a job during the summer, but can not always work during the school year. Nanny positions are great for this type of situation because parents need caregivers for their children during the summer while school is out. So how do you go about finding temporary nanny jobs?

1
Make a list of your experiences, references, and anything that makes you qualified to be a Nanny. Then make a separate list of all of your requirements. That would be your desired salary, the dates or length of time you are available to work, whether you are seeking a live in position, or anything you would want to discuss with the parents who are hiring you. Having as many details as possible will show the parents that you are serious about the job and it will also prevent any misunderstandings.

2
Search your local newspaper for any nanny jobs that might be available. If you can't find any, call the newspaper agency and place an ad advertising your services. This may bring you a few opportunities and you could then choose the one that is best for you.

3
Consider using a nanny agency if you can't find a job on your own. They would have a list of clients and could probably place you fairly quickly.

4
Discuss the list with the potential employer and give them your references. Make sure you let them know why you want this job and why you think you are great with children. You may also want to give them a list of crafts you can do with the children or a list of places you would be willing to take them. This shows the parents that you have some plans and that you are not just going to sit and watch TV and pay no attention to their children.

5
Ask to meet the children. See if you can bond with the children as this is one of the most important steps. The parents are going to like that fact that you asked about their children and they are going to be swayed by their children's wishes if you bond with the children and they request you. If you and the parents agree on the demands and you bond with the children you are almost certain to get the job.

Tips & Warnings
Make sure you know what the transportation arrangements will be. If you use your car are you going to get reimbursed if you take the kids on any trips?
If you can't stand to be around smoke, don't take a job with smoking parents. Make sure the job is a good fit for both you and the parents.
