Step 1
Abstain for excessive high-impact exercise. Running, tennis, or contact sports such as football can be very hard on your knees and make you susceptible to injuries.
-
Step 2
Opt for low-impact exercise that is easier on your knees. Some great choices include swimming and other water sports, biking, or yoga.
-
Step 3
Stretch and warm up before any exercise. This will help your muscles and tendons become stronger over time, making you less likely to injure your knees.
-
Step 4
Maintain a healthy weight. Too much extra weight on your frame puts an extra strain on your knees, causing them to be more prone to injury.
-
Step 5
Wear proper foot attire. Don't take long walks in a pair of flip-flops, or subject your feet and knees to nothing but high heels. Have your feet fitted with good shoes for the sports or exercises you will be performing.
