Change a Color Photo to a Sepia Photo

  1. Step 1

Click on Microsoft Digital Image Software program icon. This will probably be on your computer desktop or in a designated folder. When the software opens up, you will see the Digital Image Start Up Window. When you see this, click on the Open icon or any other icon you need to upload the photo(s) needed to change from color to sepia.

  2. Step 2

Find your photo. Once inside the Start Up Window Open Folder, on the left side of this window, look for the particular folder you keep photos in. When you find the photo or photos needed, click on each photo, individually, and they will appear in a pane on the right hand side of the software program.

  3. Step 3

View photos in the pane. From the photo pane, you will be able to delete a particular photo you no longer want to change to sepia style. The photos in the pane are like a thumbnail or snapshot of each photo you may want to use for your particular project. In the photo pane, you can also move photos up or down.

  4. Step 4

Click on Effects. With your photo up in front of you, click the EFFECTS button on the first toolbar. When the EFFECTS button is clicked on, a new drop down window will appear showing several specialized photo options for your project.

  5. Step 5

Click on Filters. With the EFFECTS drop down window open, look for the FILTERS button . Click on the FILTERS button, which will show you a list of various ways you can change your color photo. For your photo project, just look for the for the SEPIA button.

  6. Step 6

Click Sepia. When you see the SEPIA button, click on this and presto! Your once color photo will turn into a SEPIA photo. If you decide you no longer want your color photo SEPIA, all you have to do is click the UNDO (blue arrow) button on the second toolbar. Then, if you decide, again, you want the color photo back to sepia, follow the above steps again. Also, to make sure you keep a particular photo color, all you have to do is click the FILE button, click the SAVE AS button and add a number or letter after the SEPIA photo. This will allow for the original photo to remain a color photo. This is one awesome photo software that allows for photos to be changed from color to sepia. Have fun with your photos using this software.
