The Bissell CleanView Bagless Vacuum cleaner utilizes a belt to drive its rotating floor brush. For optimum performance you should regularly check your rotating floor brush and drive belt for wear. Occasionally the belt will need to be replaced. The procedure is simple enough that anyone who can use a screwdriver can do it.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Phillips Head Screwdriver
  • Bissell Style 7 Replacement Belt #32074
  1. Step 1

Unplug the vacuum cleaner from the electrical outlet. Press the handle release pedal located on the left hand side of the base of the unit and lower the handle to its "Low" position.

  2. Step 2

Turn the vacuum cleaner over to reveal the bottom side. Locate the four screws that attach the brush cover to the base of the vacuum cleaner.

  3. Step 3

Using the Phillips head screwdriver remove each of the four screws by turning them counter-clockwise. Set the screws aside. Lift the brush cover off and set it aside.

  4. Step 4

Grasp the rotating floor brush at each end with both hands. Lift the brush straight up. There will be tension on the end of the brush that holds the drive belt.

  5. Step 5

Slide the drive belt off of the rotating floor brush. Slide the drive belt off of the motor pulley. Discard the old drive belt.

  6. Step 6

Slide the new drive belt onto the motor pulley. Slip the rotating floor brush through the new drive belt, settling the belt on the open space between the bristles on the floor brush.

  7. Step 7

Grasp the rotating floor brush on each end and stretch the drive belt by pulling the brush toward the front of the vacuum. Insert the rotating floor brush back into the slots at the front of the vacuum.

  8. Step 8

Rotate the brush by hand until the drive belt seats itself on the rotating floor brush crown. Replace the brush cover. Insert the screws and tighten them with the Phillips head screwdriver by turning them clockwise.

  9. Step 9

Turn vacuum cleaner over. Depress the handle release pedal and return the handle to the upright position. Plug the vacuum cleaner into an electrical outlet and resume cleaning.

Tips & Warnings
  • The rotating floor brush will continue to rotate while tools are in use. To avoid injury, never place your fingers under the cleaner while it is running.
