English Bread Pudding is an old fashioned recipe dating back hundreds of years. It is yummy and great for a brunch or tea. Remember...old fashioned recipes are always the best!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 big bowl of stale bread, cut up
  • 2 C organic milk
  • 1 C organic butter, softened
  • 2 C chopped fruit
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp. allspice
  • 4 large organic eggs
  1. Step 1

    Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In a pot, combine the bread and milk and heat gently over medium low heat. Stir in the fruit, spices, and eggs and mix thoroughly.

  2. Step 2

    Bake for 2 hours. During the last 5 minutes, sprinkle the top with brown sugar and a little more butter.

  3. Step 3

    Traditionally served in small pottery bowls.
    Serves: 6-8.
