You've completed the shop, and now all that stands between you and your payday is your report. You might think the hard part is over, but sometimes completing a report for a secret shopper job is more difficult than the shop itself. Depending on the rules of your secret shopper company, a bad secret shopper job report can prevent you from getting paid, and sometimes even get you fired. Here are some tips for completing a report that will please any secret shopper company.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pen
  • Shop guidelines
  1. Step 1

Take good, detailed notes during your shop. Never rely on your memory to remember details later. After your shop, sit somewhere nearby (your car is a great place) and write down every detail you can remember.

  2. Step 2

Review the guidelines for your secret shopper job before you begin your report. This helps ensure that you include all requested information in your report. If the guidelines are lengthy, consider jotting down a list of main points that you must include in your report.

  3. Step 3

Complete your report using your detailed notes from the job. Remember that it is better to include too much information than too little information.

  4. Step 4

Review the shop guidelines again for your secret shopper job to make sure you included all information requested. If necessary, add or edit information in your report to comply with the shop guidelines.

  5. Step 5

Check your spelling and grammar before submitting your report.

Tips & Warnings
  • Never rely on your memory to complete a secret shopper job report. Always take good, thorough notes.
  • Shoppers are often asked to revise reports, refused payment or even fired for bad or incomplete reports. Make sure you follow all job guidelines and provide good details.

on 8/6/2008 Jpaint: I too am a secret shopper. I have been for probably a year now. I do them when I have time. For a while, I was doing 4-5 a month. If you want another cool mystery shopping website I use, find me on WAHM website and I will give you the link there. 5 Stars!

Have you done mystery shopping jobs before?
I have joined a few sites, but have not done a job yet. I think I just need to take the plunge. Using my credit card and hoping to get reimbursed is just a little scary for me.
