While many of us love soda, we also hate the calories, high fructose corn syrup and other dyes and chemicals that go with it. This is a super easy way to make your own soda that tastes great!
Tonic water or club soda - carbonated for the fizz, but no high fructose or dyes. Be sure to use lemon/lime or plain flavored.
Fruit juice and/or fruit juice concentrate - use the kind with no added sugar/high fructose, dyes
a glass
ice (optional)
Step1
Begin with selecting high quality club soda, tonic water, etc. something that fizzes but has no flavor or high fructose corn syrup.
Step2
Select your high quality fruit juice the same way. Use natural or organic when possible because these types usually have less sugars. The point is to pick up juice that has 'no sugar added'.
Step3
Mix equal parts of juice and fizzy water in a glass. Drink, and enjoy!
Tips & Warnings
Depending on how much flavor you want and how much fizz you want, you can vary the amounts of the juice or fizz to suit your taste buds.
Making your own homemade soda can be fun. Besides fruit juice, lemon aide, fruit punch and other sweet juices can be used.
If you are diabetic or need to be on a low glycemic diet, make sure it's okay for you to have this. Truthfully, fruit juice soda is probably better for you than diet soda anyway :).
