Online education has become more and more popular. Earning a degree through the Internet can be convenient and cost effective depending where you live. Teaching is a common degree that many universities and colleges offer. The following are steps that you will need to take to earn a teaching degree on line.

  • Determination to receive a online teachings degree.
  • Computer with internet connection.
  1. Step 1

    Research: Look around your community and state colleges that offer on line courses. Also look at a on line colleges that may offer the teaching certificate your desire. Talk with admissions counselor to find which online college can help you get the most financial aid for your on line education adventure. Make sure the degree you are seeking will be marketable in the community you want to work.

  2. Step 2

    Sign up: Apply for acceptance as you would any other college program. You also must specify that you wish to register for on line enrollment. Before filling out your application gather your transcripts and other documents that the school requires to send copies with your application.

  3. Step 3

    Start: The worst mistake a student can make with a online class is to not start at all or procrastinate the starting date until it is to late.

  4. Step 4

    Meet all deadlines on assignments: Online teachers are not known in being persuaded to except late work. You'll need to keep abreast of all deadlines that apply to your course of study. There will be specific deadlines for registrations as well as deadlines for tuition payments, etc. If you miss these deadlines, you run the risk of not being able to enroll for that particular semester or you may have to pay late fees.

  5. Step 5

    Communication. Be open with your online professors and ask questions as needed.

  6. Step 6

    Required Student Internship. Before earning a online teacher's degree you must go through a internship, this usually lasts six months. This is typically done with a school near your community within the subject area you are studying.

  7. Step 7

    Get your diploma: After you have obtained all the required courses and completed the internship you will qualify to graduate.

  • The time that it takes to earn a Teaching degree online depends on how much colleges courses you already have and haw many college credits you are willing to take at a time.
  • State testing will also be required to earn a teachers certification.

on 7/31/2008 This is a great start, but in some states, online degrees are not offerred for Education and Teaching (like New York!) - you always have to do your research first!!
