How to Buy Wii Points

Curious about purchasing Wii Points from the Wii shop channel but not sure how to do it? How to purchase Wii points is easier than you think when you follow these simple steps.

Things You'll Need:

  • Nintendo Wii and Sensor Bar
  • Wii Controller
  • Television
  • Properly Hooked up Console
  • Connection to the Internet
  • Credit Card or Wii Point Cards Purchased From Retailers
  1. Step 1

    Make sure your Nintendo Wii is properly connected and installed and turn it on. Using the Wii controller point to the option that says Wii Shop and use the "A" button to select the option.

  2. Step 2

    Using the Wii Shop channel for the first time you will be prompted to agree to the terms and conditions of the program, and if you agree click "I agree" and "continue" after reading the Wii Shop description.

  3. Step 3

    Once you are on the Wii Shop Channel menu, select "start shopping." When you find something you like, click on the menu that says "Add Wii Points."

  4. Step 4

    Select the amount of Wii points you would like to purchase and what kind of credit card you would like to use to pay for them. Wii Points currently accepts MasterCard or Visa.

  5. Step 5

    Enter your credit card details, billing information, address and confirm your order. After reviewing your purchase press "Yes" on the screen and a confirmation screen will appear showing the points you have purchased.

  6. Step 6

    Additionally you can buy Wii Point cards from most video game and Wii retailers that have pre-loaded Wii points already on them and are displayed on the front.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure that your billing address, credit card info, name, and information match to make the transaction easier.
  • Registering your Wii with My Nintendo makes it easier and more secure to buy things over the server as well as confirm your identity.
  • Every 100 Wii Points is a dollar, so make sure you have enough to cover your purchase before agreeing to the terms and processing page.
