Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Whitening toothpaste
  • Baking soda
  • Regular dental cleanings
  1. Step 1

Practice good dental hygiene everyday. Brush your teeth at least twice a day with baking soda or a whitening toothpaste. Baking soda works well to whiten your teeth and it is a really cheap product to buy. Or you can simply purchase a whitening toothpaste to use instead. When you purchase your toothpaste, make sure that is says the word “whitening” on the outside of the box.

  2. Step 2

Eat healthy foods and drink plenty of water. Your diet plays an important role in how your teeth look. By eating healthy foods (including fruits vegetables) and drinking plenty of water, your teeth can look whiter and better. Be sure to stay away from drinks that can stain your teeth such as colas, red wine and coffee.

  3. Step 3

Purchase an over-the-counter product to whiten your teeth. There are different teeth whitening products that you can purchase over-the-counter at a local store, such as Crest Whitestrips or bleaching trays. You can use these products in the comfort of your home and they are less expensive than having your teeth professional whitened in a dentist office.

  4. Step 4

Visit your dentist to have your teeth whitened. Your dentist can professional bleach your teeth and make them look really white and pretty. The whitening process is faster if done in a dentist office (usually one office visit) compared to doing it yourself, which may take two weeks to complete.

  5. Step 5

Get porcelain veneers added to your teeth. Porcelain veneers are thin coverings that your dentist places over your teeth to make them look whiter. This costs more money than bleaching your teeth, but the results are amazing. It usually requires two office visits to complete the process.

  6. Step 6

See your dentist for a regular check-up and cleaning. You should visit your dentist at least twice a year (once every six months) for a regular dental examination and cleaning. Your dentist cleans your teeth with a special whitening gel, in order to keep you teeth looking white.
