Summer mean lots of time spent outdoors with family and friends, and whether this time is at the beach or just in the backyard, you run the risk of getting sunburned. There are plenty of sunburn relief products on the market these days, but why why spend the extra money when you can make a good home remedy that works just as well? The following article will give you tips on how to make your own sunburn treatment.

Things You'll Need

  • Baking soda\nCotton balls/gauze\nWater\nBowl
  • Pour a cup of water into a bowl or plastic container.

  • Combine 4 tbsp. of baking soda with the water, and mix well.

  • Place several cotton balls or a stack of gauze pads in the water/baking soda mixture and let soak for a few minutes.

  • Apply the mixture to the affected skin area with the cotton balls/gauze. The baking soda will help soothe your sunburn by taking some of the sting out of it.

Tips & Warnings

  • Mix the baking soda with the water well so there aren't clumps
  • Do not use hot water for the mixture! It will be extremely painful on your skin!
