How to Raise Bulls for Bullfighting

Bullfighting is a popular part of the culture of Mexico, South America and Spain. Although there are very few bullfighting rings in America, Americans still learn about bullfighting through various rodeos across the country. Bulls used in bullfighting are raised specifically for that reason and much care must be taking into account when raising a bull for bullfighting.

  1. How to Raise Bulls for Bullfighting

    • 1

Feed them properly. Bulls, like all animals, need nourishment to grow healthy and strong. Bulls used in bullfighting eat up to 30 pounds of a special blend of mixed grains everyday to keep up their strength.

    • 2

Give your bull dessert. Besides eating your bull grains everyday, it is also important to give your bull 20 pounds of Alfalfa every day to help it stay healthy.

    • 3

Provide bulls with their vitamins. Like humans, bulls don’t get all of the necessary nourishment they need to grow in their diet alone. You must give a bull one B-12 complex vitamin every two weeks for it to grow strong.

    • 4

Let your bull rest. In order to have a strong bull for bullfighting, it is important to allow the bull to rest for 12 to 14 hours each day.

    • 5

Allow bulls to have their space. In order to fully grow and develop, bulls need space to move around. Bulls used in bullfighting must live on large ranches where you can give them plenty of exercise.

    • 6

Go to the veterinarian. It is important for the bull to be as healthy as possible and to get check ups from the veterinarian. Make sure your bull has up-to-date vet checks and that you have a vet on call as you are raising it.
