After using all the eggs in your egg carton, you can put the carton aside to use for crafts later on. You may say that you don’t know what you’ll use them for but if you read this article you will find some crafts and other fun uses for egg cartons.

From Quick Guide: Arts and Crafts for Beginners
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Use your egg carton to separate paint when giving paint to kids. Pour a different color of paint in each section of the egg carton. This keeps the paint contained and separated for easy selection.

  2. Step 2

Paint the entire outside of an egg carton for a craft project. Fill each section with a different piece of jewelry. One may have earrings another may have a necklace. While an egg carton jewelry box craft may not be a desired craft for older girls, little girls will love making their very own jewelry box.

  3. Step 3

Place the egg carton in a drawer and place small objects in each section of the egg carton. This is a simple craft to do. Cut off the top of the egg carton and slip it into a drawer. By having separate sections to keep little objects you will be able to find things when you need them. Items to put in this egg carton are things such as safety pins, bobby pins, paper clips, nail cutter, pins, tacks, quarters and many other small objects.

  4. Step 4

Use the parts of an egg carton to make puppets as the craft for the day. Carefully cut the bottom of the egg carton so that you will have a top and a bottom for the puppets face. Basically you will mirror image one of the sections that the egg was in. Draw or place eyes on the top part of it. Draw or paint a mouth on the bottom portion of the egg section.Glue a popsicle stick on the back side of this dual egg section.

  5. Step 5

Create a matching game with the sections of the egg carton. Cut all 12 sections of the egg carton out carefully. Place 12 objects under each one. Out of the 12 objects you will have six pairs. For example two pennies, two dimes, two nickels, two paper clips, two pieces of gum and two dice. Mix them around and take turns lifting only two at a time trying to match what is under the egg carton pieces. Whoever has the most pairs, wins.

Tips & Warnings
  • Have fun and be creative.
  • You can precut some of the egg cartons ahead of time.
  • Place a garbage can next to your work area to reduce the amount of mess you will have when you are done with your craft.
  • Be careful with scissors around small children.
