How to Make a Dollhouse Table Centerpiece

Nothing enhances a dollhouse quite like detail. A centerpiece for your dollhouse's living room table is just such an addition! Here's how to make one.

• Tinfoil
• Clay
• Dextrine
• Paint

Making a Dollhouse Table Centerpiece

1. Fold tinfoil onto itself three times in order to increase its thickness.

2. Shape the tinfoil into a tiny bowl, about an inch wide and a quarter-inch deep.

3. Make five or six pieces of "fruit" out of clay. They should be small enough to all fit in the bowl. I'd suggest trying bananas, oranges and grapes. For bananas, roll the clay then shape into a crescent. For oranges, simply roll the clay into small balls. For grapes, roll the clay into very tiny balls then clump together in the appropriate shape.

4. Coat the clay fruit with Dextrine. This will cause the clay to harden without the necessity of firing it in a kiln.

5. Paint the fruit the appropriate colors, then add to the bowl. Place the bowl of fruit onto the center of your dollhouse table.

• Such small clay creations will be fragile once they've hardened, so handle them with care!
