  • Green Coffee Beans
  • Perforated Baking Sheet
  • Oven Mitts

      Preheat your oven to 475 degrees.

      Spread the beans on the baking sheet. Be sure that the beans are spread out evenly in one layer.

      Place the baking sheet in the middle shelf of the preheated oven.

      Roast the beans for 8 to 10 minutes. You will then hear the beans begin to pop and they will begin shedding the chaff. Roast the beans for a few minutes more.

      Begin checking the beans for the desire level of roast.

      Rotate the baking sheet as the beans roast and begin to darken.

      When the beans have reached the desired roast, remove them from the oven. Pour into a colander to cool.

      Shake the beans to remove the chaff.

      Place the cooled beans in a sealed container out of direct light.

    Great info! If you've got one, using a perforated baking sheet can help a lot to increase air flow and get a more even roast. Also, be aware that just like roasting coffee in a pan on the stovetop, oven roasting can result in some smoke.
