When my son was five he loved anything having to do with Lego's. So naturally, when it came time to celebrate his birthday I decided to host a Lego themed birthday party in his honor. It was such a blast that I decided to pass on what we did to make the party a hit. Lego themed parties are creative and fun.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Lots of Lego's
  • Yellow caution tape
  • Plastic hard hats
  • A birthday party
  1. Step 1

Create a cool party invitation that will let your guests know the theme of the party. You can use a Lego and attach the party details to a piece of paper onto the Lego and if possible hand deliver the invitations-it's easier than trying to mail a Lego. If your going to invite your child's class you can place one Lego with attached invite into each school cubby.

  2. Step 2

Gather as many Lego's as possible. We bought five buckets of Lego's before the party. You can find Lego's at lots of yard sales or thrift stores too. Create different sections at the party place: a place to build tall buildings another space to make animals out of Lego's. The idea is to come up with a number of different party venues. Include a competition table and invite guests to make their wackiest building out of Lego's.

  3. Step 3

Pass out plastic hard hats to guests to create the illusion of a construction zone. Drape yellow caution tape around your front door to welcome guests to the 'Lego building area'.

  4. Step 4

Create a contest to honor superlatives including 'best build', 'most creative', 'wackiest tower' and 'honorable mention'. Be fair and make sure you have a little 'prize' for every guest.

  5. Step 5

Create a Lego themed cake. If your not a baker order one from your local supermarket.

Tips & Warnings
  • Plan ahead.
  • Consider the age group and make sure the Lego activities you've chosen are age appropriate.
  • The key to the success of this type of party is to have plenty of Lego's on hand and creative opportunities for play.
