How to Reexamine Your Life
-
1
Recognize specific areas in your life that you’re no longer happy with. Your goals and desires may have changed from what they were before. Ask yourself if you’re happy with your career, finances, hobbies, family life, health, relationships, religious or spiritual life, love life, social life, and so forth. Start examining the things you would like to do and the things you no longer like to do. This can help you to begin to sort things out and pinpoint the things that are bothering you the most.
-
2
Write a list of the things you are currently doing in your life. This can include your job, hobbies, family, relationships, etc. Write out what you like and dislike about each or these things and then write a new list with things you would like to change. Include any new goals you currently have such as change of job, change of location, joining a gym, picking up new hobbies, or anything you would like to change in your life. Decide what to get rid of, what to keep, and what to add.

3
Take some time to yourself. It’s easy to get caught up in work, family, and doing things for other people and sometimes in the process; you forget to take time out to do what you enjoy. Life is short; if there is something you want to do you should go for it. Constantly re-examine your goals and focus on what you want out of life. Your life is only as good as you make it.
-
4
Try something you’ve never done before. Take a trip to a place you’ve never been, go skydiving, volunteer for a cause, train for a marathon, go back to school. There are countless things you can decide to do that can bring a newfound joy into your life. Sometimes being in the same environment and having the same routine can begin to wear you down. Don’t be afraid to change things up.
-
5
Make plans to incorporate ways of achieving your new goals. Give yourself time limits to change things around. Having a specific time frame in mind will help you to continue to work towards your new goals and ultimately achieve them. Don’t just say you want to see things in your life change, take steps to make those changes happen.

6
Seek help or advice from a life coach. A life coach can help you to set specific goals and work towards achieving them. A life coach is supposed to help you to expand upon your already existing capabilities and develop those capabilities to their full potential. This can be helpful in reaching both long and short term goals as you re-examine your life and work towards making changes.
