There are several different types of folds a parent can use on a cloth diaper. The twist method is quite popular and very comfortable for the baby, as the diaper affords the baby more breathing room. The more breathing room your baby has to their bottom the less likely they are to get a rash. Read on to learn how to twist pre-folded cloth diapers.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Lay your cloth diaper out so that it is flat and not folded at all.

  2. Step 2

Begin by folding the diaper in to thirds. Make sure you do this lengthwise and not by width.

  3. Step 3

Twist the top half of the diaper half way around, not a complete circle. Once you have done this with the top, do it with the bottom piece of the cloth diaper.

  4. Step 4

Slide the bottom half of the cloth diaper under the babies butt and fold the rest of the diaper around the bottom and up to the front. The top twisted side will be just under the babies navel.

  5. Step 5

Take the corners of each side of the diaper and attach them together with a pin so that you have one pin on the right side holding the diaper together and one on the left.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you don't want to use pins you can use any other type of fastener.
  • Be careful when placing the pin on the diaper so that you don't accidentally stick the pin in to your baby or even your own thumb.
