clean Computer Keyboards

Keyboards are one of the Dirtiest things that are in your house. On top of that they seem to be the most difficult to clean, untill now. here are an arsenal of ways to clean your pesky keyboard.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Items needed will be discussed throught the Article.
  1. Step 1

Before you do ANYTHING turn off and unplug your computer.

  2. Step 2

The easiest way to get out loose crumbs and debree is to take your keyboard an d give it a good shake. This will usually get out most dry bits depending on the type of keyboard that you have.

  3. Step 3

A more thuro way to clean out crumbs is a vacuum or a compressed air sprayer. The compressed air sprayer is an easy route but the only problem is that in some cases it may simply distribute the crumbs. The vacuum is a better alternative because it will remove the debree completely. Many vacuums you are able to buy attachments that make this more affective.

  4. Step 4

For the keys a washcloth with special keyboard fluid or plain water on it should do the trick. Never spray anything directly on the keyboard. To clean between the keys simply use the same solution with a Q-tip. for hard stains use a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol.

  5. Step 5

If a liquid is spilled onto the board immediately shut down the computer. Save your files using your mouse and unplug the keyboard. Flip the keyboard upside down and allow the liquid to flow out as much as possible. Allow to dry and clean as specified above.

  6. Step 6

Sticky keys..no problem. A Philips head screwdriver can usually be used to pop off the key. Don't worry the key will snap back on. While the key is off you may clean the part with water on a cotton swab or
    Q-tip.

  7. Step 7

Removing all of the keys to get a complete clean is a great idea every year or two. Simply take a picture or write down where all of the keys go. This way it saves on the confusion. Place all of the keys in a zip lock to keep them safe.

  8. Step 8

    HAPPY CLEANING!

  9. Step 9
